The Azerbaijan Feminist Group of YUVA was established with the mission to introduce the feminist concepts and debates to women in Azerbaijan and to empower and inspire young women and girls to create a positive change in their lives and communities. We recognize the unequal position of women and men in society and want to change that situation.

The Feminist Group wants to advance young women and girls’ equality, non-violence, development and, most importantly, empowerment of them in all sectors of society. The beneficiaries of the Feminist Group’s activities are predominately women interested in gaining more information and engaging in dialogue on feminist issues. The group provides a forum for discussion and a source of information. The structure is informal and open and encourages all women to participate. Twenty women, most of who work professionally with women’s rights and the rights of the child, work as volunteers for the Feminist Group.
